Sand Point Nature Preserve
Explore a Large & Diverse Native Michigan Landscape
The Sand Point Nature Preserve encompases 220 acres of diverse native Michigan landscapes and is part of the Saginaw Basin Land Conservacy.
Explore a unique blend of sandy soils, wetlands, open meadows, hemlock groves, an inland lake (Mud Lake), and the Lake Huron Coast by hiking almost 5 miles of well-established trails.
There is a large parking lot at the entrance to the trail on M-25 just south of Caseville. The maintained trails are well-maked with signs throughout, boardwalks over wet areas, and benches to sit and rest.
The preserve is an ideal place for bird and wildlife watching, hiking, trail running, biking, and snoeshoeing or cross-country skiing in the winter months.
