Outdoor Activities
Just because we are surrounded by water, doesn’t mean that you HAVE to spend all of your leisure time on the water! There are plenty of non-water-related activities to choose from: walking, hiking, bicycling, hunting, bird-watching, geo-caching, picnicking — the list goes on!
Bird Creek Golf Club is a premiere 18-hole golf course, just a mile south of town, that you won’t want to miss. There are also three miniature golf courses close by. Knoblock Riding Stable, also just south of town, offers trail riding, pony rides and hayrides.
Bird Creek is a seven acre day use park located in Port Austin. The first thing you notice at Bird Creek is the wooden boardwalk that goes halfway around the park along the beach with roofed picnic shelters overlooking the beach and the water. The park features a large picnic Pavilion adjacent to the playground. A new restroom and shower facility completes the park features.
