The Thumb-based band “Ourselves” will be the featured performers Live on Stage at the Port Austin Farmers Market on Saturday, June 22, 2019. Ourselves consists of brothers Tom and Walt Schlichting, and Lynn Surbrook. Ourselves sings Irish ballads, Americana, songs of Michigan and the Great Lakes, sea shanties, and might even throw in a couple dance tunes or a little Hank Williams or Buddy Holly.
Over 35 Bands will be playing on neighborhood porches and various locations around downtown.

Dan Valeen is a virtuoso guitar player and an accomplished vocalist. He is conversant in jazz, rock & roll, blues, bluegrass & Dixieland, and has played with some of most talented entertainers in the Detroit area. We are delighted to have Dan travel to Port Austin and grace our stage with his talent and musicality.
The talented trio, featuring Robin Moore on lead vocals/percussion, Tom Moore on bass/vocals, and Garry Valentine on guitar/vocals, offers up a mix of classic rock and old-school country music. The entertainment begins at 10 a.m. downtown at the stage adjacent to the historic gymnasium during the Farmers Market. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy the free concert during Market hours.
The Thumb’s own Autumn Gold will perform Live on Stage at the Port Austin Farmers Market on Saturday, July 13, 2019. The acoustic collaboration of Shannon Allen, Larry Lemke and Jeff Taylor will perform a rich, soulful music mix spanning the genres of country, folk, soft rock and inspirational Christian. The entertainment runs from 10 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. downtown at the stage adjacent to the historic gymnasium during the Farmers Market. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy the free concert during Market hours.
The musical group Silverwood Bottom Boys will be performing a selection of old time gospel music and hymns Live on Stage at the Port Austin Farmers Market on Saturday, July 20, 2019. The group was formed when Freddie Wilbanks (guitar) and Bob Garner (mandolin) met at the old Buick Motor Division. They played beside the free flowing water spring north of Silverwood, Michigan, thereby adopting the group’s name. From there they were featured at the old Garner Barn, retirement parties, birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, and ice cream socials. The group has also appeared at the Clio Amphitheater, Lapeer Pix Theatre, Octogon Barn, Frankenmuth and Caro Farmers Markets, and churches throughout Michigan.
The lively musical duo, Thompson and Valentine, will be the featured performers Live on Stage at the Port Austin Farmers Market on Saturday, July 27, 2019. Thompson and Valentine play favorite country and pop songs that will have you singing along. Strong vocals & guitars, and a lot of fun for everyone!
Bobby grew up playing all over Los Angeles performing everywhere from coffee houses to music festivals. Originally from California, Bobby moved to Harbor Beach Michigan almost ten years ago to start a family. Locally, Bobby has performed at the Maritime Festival, PAK'S Backyard, and number of other shows and festivals. In 2018, Trevor and Bobby joined up to create a sound of their own. Together they play covers and originals, including but not limited to Jim Croce, Fleetwood Mac, Smashing Pumpkins, and 80's to current pop radio.
The Bill Denbrock Big Band has been performing for big band music lovers for over 25 years. They perform annually for the Port Austin Art Fair and have had performance dates all around the thumb area as well as dates in farther away sites such as Mackinac Island, Bay City, Saginaw, port Sanilac, Sandusky, and Lapeer.
A local cover band from the thumb of Michigan who play music from the 60s to today. If you want variety and good old rock and roll, this is the band for you.
Four Shillings Short perform Traditional & Original music from the Celtic Lands, Medieval & Renaissance Europe, India and the Americas on over 30 World instruments including Hammered & Mountain Dulcimer, Mandolin, Mandola, Bouzouki, Tinwhistles, Recorders, Medieval and Renaissance Woodwinds, Native American Flutes, North Indian Sitar, Charango, Bowed Psaltery, Banjo, Bodhran, Guitar, Ukelele, Doumbek, Percussion, vocals and even a Krumhorn.
The Spring Street Boys have been entertaining people in Port Austin and in the Thumb area with a nice mix of oldies and country since 2005, when they appeared at Port Austin's first ever Farmers Market.
Matt Gabriel is a singer/songwriter who has spent over a decade writing and performing music around the country–the quality of folk and blues you would expect from an artist who grew up between Chicago and Detroit. He’s got a must-see live show and a very approachable recorded sound. It’s music you can trust and believe in.
Picks & Sticks is a metro Detroit duo of extraordinary talent. Morgan & Sherry Humecki are well-known as frequent performers at Greenfield Village, the Dulcimer Festival in Evart, and the Huckleberry Railroad in Flint. Morgan is a "monster" on the banjo, guitar, and mandola, as well as being an accomplished vocalist and audience-engaging entertainer. Sherry is a virtuoso of the hammered dulcimer. She will amaze and delight with show-stoppers such as the William Tell Overture, Ghost Rider's in the Sky, and other highly skillful arrangements that few can accomplish on the dulcimer.
