MICHIGAN WALLEYE TOUR

Port Austin 2018! July 14th-15th

Its Beginnings and Looking Ahead

After completing its 22nd season and looking forward to the 2018 season, the Michigan Walleye Tour continues to strive to be the premier state walleye circuit in the nation.  Covering all of Michigan in 2017 and with almost 200 teams participating, the Michigan Walleye Tour held qualifying tournaments on the Detroit River, Lake Erie, Houghton Lake, and on Thunder Bay of northern Lake Huron

The Michigan Walleye Tour began in 1995, and is the major financial supporter of the Saginaw Bay Walleye Club, allowing our club to support many youth fishing programs in the area as well as awarding scholarships annually to students pursuing education in the fields of natural resources and law enforcement.  Together, the Saginaw Bay Walleye Club and the Michigan Walleye Tour share a common objective in striving to promote walleye fishing, education, conservation throughout the state of Michigan while giving back to the community.  Providing top anglers an arena in which to compete and to spread knowledge to the fishing public has allowed the Michigan Walleye Tour to experience the tremendous growth it has had over the past 22 years.

As participation in the Michigan Walleye Tour has grown, so has sponsorship with Lund Boats, Mercury Marine, Lowrance, Berkley/Abu Garcia, and Harpham Chiropractic as our tour sponsors. Other major companies in the fishing industry with regional and local support helped propel the Michigan Walleye Tour to become what it has today.

The Michigan Walleye Tour is made of up teams that consist of father/son, father/daughter, husband/wife, and just plain old fishing buddies who compete for up to $30,000 in cash and prizes.  Each event is limited to 120 boats so we encourage teams to enter early as space is limited.
